Panther House System

Posted Date: 9/03/25 (8:59 AM)

Panther Families,

We’re about to kick off our Panther House System for the school year, and we couldn’t be more excited! For all our new families, let us explain what this means.

At Pioneer, every student and staff member belongs to a house:

  • Integritas - Integrity
  • Fictus - Resilience / Growth through challenge
  • Mentis - Mind / Wisdom
  • Doctrina (Kindergarten students begin here as “Apprentices”)
The House System creates smaller “families” within our school, helping students build character, community, and school spirit. Students remain in their house throughout their years at Pioneer, working together across grade levels. Each month, houses meet to focus on a new character trait such as respect, honesty, gratitude, and responsibility. Houses also earn points by demonstrating positive behavior, completing good deeds, and showing school expectations—all building toward a friendly race for the House Championship each trimester!

At our first House Meeting this Thursday, our new 1st–8th graders will pop balloons to reveal which house they’ll join for their time at Pioneer. Parents will be notified afterward so you’ll know which house your student belongs to. Our Kindergarten students will all be part of Doctrina House this year. Next fall, they’ll get to pop their balloons and be officially inducted into their permanent houses in 1st grade.

We’re also excited to share our new Panther Merch Store, where you can order house t-shirts as well as Panther gear. You can access the merch store on our website or by clicking HERE Panther Merch Store.

Students are encouraged to wear their house shirts every Thursday for Spirit Day to show their pride!

We’re looking forward to another year of Panther spirit, teamwork, and character building through our House System!

** Note: We also want every student to feel proud representing their house on Spirit Days. If purchasing a house t-shirt creates a financial hardship, our Panther PTA offers a Panther House Grant to help cover the cost. Please reach out to Mrs. S in confidence, and we’ll make sure your child receives a shirt.
