PTA Minutes January 7th, 2016
The meeting was called to order by SKelly Adkins at 6:10pm.
In attendance: Darcy Ostermiller, SKelly Adkins, Kari Jones, Joelle Maddox, Karissa Gordon
We discussed the financials and reviewed receipts, donations, and expenses. There is currently $8,995 in the checking account.
A binder of notes is being created to help future chair people for each event.
Ms. Ticknor and Ms. Nalewaja learned great things at their reading conference. Much of which has already been implemented in their classrooms and shared with other teachers.
Reflections Program deadline is January 8th. SKelly has found judges to judge the entries and the winners will be announced at the Taste of Pioneer. The winners will advance to the State level.
There is $100 per teacher available in the PTA budget. The teacher just needs to submit a request for the items they need.
Reef Fundraiser has been set for March 4th. A flyer will be sent out the month before.
Kari Jones has volunteered to head Teacher Appreciation.

Last Day of School BBQ and Graduation
The Taste of Pioneer is coming up so we discussed prizes to be given out. Skelly made the motion to purchase Pioneer Cookbooks for prizes and Darcy seconded it. All were in favor.
Spring Bookfair will be further discussed in February’s meeting. A Scholastic Book Fair was discussed and we thought it could possibly be combined with the Science Fair. It could be held in a different classroom.
In February, there will be a Yellowstone Council Meeting if anyone is interested in going.
We discussed possible goals for PTA money. Miss Gordon is going to further look into the STEM program and Lego robotics (mobile science station). Other suggestions were multipurpose building, extra food for those kids who don’t have breakfast/lunch on occasion, and a new lawn mower for the school.
We discussed getting a Debit Card for online purchases only. SKelly motioned to get one and Joelle seconded it. All in favor.
The next meeting will be on February 4th at 6:00. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.
